When Your Favorite Bead Disappears: Why Choosing Early Matters

One of the things I love most about Wick’d Pebble is finding unique beads that help you Wear Your Story. But there’s something important about handmade and small-batch supplies that I want everyone to know:

If you love a bead, don’t assume it will still be there later.

This beautiful horse is the perfect example. She was part of a little family of three designs that I affectionately called brother and sisters. Unfortunately, the maker wasn’t selling enough of this particular collection to continue producing them, so all three designs have now been discontinued.

And this one? She’s already gone. I no longer have her available, and I can’t simply order another one.

The good news is that I do still have a few of her brother and sister designs in my inventory—but once those are chosen, they’re gone too.

Why choosing early matters

I know it’s tempting to see something you love and think, “I’ll come back for that later.” Most of the time, we’re used to shopping somewhere that can simply restock an item.

Wick’d Pebble works a little differently.

Many of the beads I use come from independent makers and suppliers. Designs change. Collections retire. Makers move on to something new. Sometimes a bead that doesn’t sell quickly enough for the maker is discontinued—even though it may be exactly the bead that tells your story.

That’s why I encourage you to choose early when something speaks to you.

You don’t necessarily need to know exactly what you want me to create with it yet. We can figure that part out together. Maybe it becomes a keychain, bag tag, wristlet, bookmark, car charm or something completely different.

The important part is claiming the bead while it’s still here.

Because sometimes “I’ll come back for it” turns into “I wish I had.”

This little horse is a perfect reminder of that.

Her brother and sister are still here waiting for their stories—but they won’t be forever. 🖤
