Wear Your Story: The Power of Being Seen

Wear Your Story: The Power of Being Seen

Take a drive through any town and you'll notice something interesting. Every successful business wants to be seen.

Whether it's a storefront in a busy plaza, a suite tucked inside a strip mall, or a stand-alone building on a quiet street, business owners invest in signage. They put their name on the door, hang a banner, install a monument sign, or add window graphics. Why?

Because people can't support a business if they don't know it's there.

A sign tells the world, "This is who we are."

As I thought about Pride Month this June, I realized how similar that idea is to the stories we carry as people.

For many, Pride Month is about visibility. It's about having the courage to stand in your truth and say, "This is who I am." For some, that means coming out to family and friends. For others, it simply means living authentically and refusing to hide parts of themselves any longer.

Just like a business sign doesn't change what's inside the building, being visible doesn't change who a person is. It simply helps others see them for who they've always been.

That idea is at the heart of my small business, Wick'd Pebble.

When I created the slogan "Wear Your Story," I wasn't thinking about fashion trends. I was thinking about connection.

Every keychain, wristlet, pen, bag tag, bookmark, or custom piece tells a story. Sometimes it's a favorite hobby. Sometimes it's a sports team, a profession, a faith, a loved one, a cause, or a memory. Sometimes it's a reminder of where you've been or who you've become.

The items we carry often say something about us before we ever speak a word.

A teacher might carry a beaded pen that celebrates her passion for education. A proud grandmother may choose a piece that represents her grandchildren. A member of the LGBTQ+ community may select colors or symbols that reflect their journey and identity. Someone grieving a loved one may carry a cardinal because it reminds them that love never truly leaves us.

These aren't just accessories.

They're signs.

Small, personal signs that tell the world a little bit about who we are.

This Pride Month, I encourage everyone to celebrate the stories that make us unique. Whether you're proudly displaying your business name on a storefront, sharing your authentic self with those you love, or carrying something meaningful that reflects your journey, know that your story matters.

You deserve to be seen.

You deserve to be known.

And most importantly, you deserve to wear your story.

Happy Pride Month from Wick'd Pebble Beadable Keychains & Gifts.

Because every story deserves to be told.
